Why did you choose International House Nice ?
Ever since a friend of mine studied French at an immersion school in the south of France, I thought it sounded like a wonderful way to learn the language.
When I heard about IH Nice I decided to come here to study before travelling around France.
What is your opinion on the school ?
IH Nice is a very friendly, comfortable, and supportive environment in which to learn French. The test to assess my level at the start of the course was professional but non-threatening,and ensured I was placed in the correct class.
There is a definite feeling that the staff are here to help you.
How were your French lessons at International House Nice ?
The French classes are fun! They are very interactive and the students get plenty of opportunities to practice communicating in French – both listening and speaking.
Every day we learnt new grammar and vocabulary and increased our confidence with the language.
What did you think about our staff ?
The staff are all very approachable and helpful. The teachers really take the time to explain things and answer questions – and they encourage us to ask any questions we may have, no matter how basic.
They are all very nice and make the classes enjoyable.
How easy have you found it to socialise and meet other students at IH Nice ?
Because everyone here is in the same boat – ie ; living in an alien culture - everyone is friendly and open.
I made some good friends from various cultures. But I was pleased to find a variety of ages, and that I was not the only thirty-something student !
How have you spent your free time ?
When not studying I have explored Nice, especially the old town and art galleries. I have also visited quite a few of the other towns and villages along the beautiful coast and in Provence such as Menton, Monaco, Beaulieu, St Jean Cap Ferrat, Villefranche-Sur-Mer, St Paul de Vence, Cannes, and Avignon.
The bus and train services make it very easy to get around.
What aspect about Nice or your stay has impressed you the most ?
I have really enjoyed the French life on the streets– the markets, the boulangeries, the patisseries, the people sitting outside at cafés ready for a chat. The old town is very picturesque and it is also lovely being next to the Mediterranean Sea !
